Aurelia Concept

Aurelia Concept

separator

Created by Melissa’s husband, this piece captures the vulnerability of Aurelia as well as showcasing the shape of her scars.

Although Irel had healed my back, he had not been able to make it whole again. The scars surrounding my wings were two great, skeletal trees. The trunks, each wider than my hand, were tattered masses of sunken scar tissue that ran from my hips upward on either side of my spine until they neared the base of my wings. From there, the branches exploded outward into a hundred smaller scars, some wider, others finer, reaching up the back of my neck. The scars already looked old, colorless and glossy against the pallor of my skin. --Heaven's Silhouette
