Not all platforms pay authors the same

As many of you know, I’m publishing independently. This let me do things like make sure Mourning’s Dawn had an amazing cover that actually matched its contents and create side projects tied to The Iyarri Chronicles at large. What that also means is I’m paying for the cost, upfront, of bringing these to print. I’m ultra-transparent about these costs on my Patreon page if you want to see the breakdown, but the short version is that buying Heaven’s Silhouette and Mourning’s Dawn from Patreon and Etsy supports me and my continued work on The Iyarri Chronicles directly. Each of these platforms takes about 10% of a cut from the purchase price.

By comparison, Amazon will take 56%. Preordering through Patreon and Etsy also gets you bonus preorder gifts, which you won’t get anywhere else!
