Book Cover Reveal
One of the things that appealed to me the most about publishing independently was being able to give creative direction into the cover design. As a visual artist myself, I’ve had thoughts of what the cover would look like as long as I’ve had the story inside the book in my head.
There were some elements, Aurelia’s scars, her unalah (the long, trailing feathers) that I wanted the cover art to showcase in a way that further illuminated these elements in the book itself.
I had the intense privilege to work with Carlos Quevedo on the cover for Heaven’s Silhouette and, skies willing, for the rest of the Iyarri Chronicles, too. He was simply amazing, and his ability to translate the drawings and text I gave him into a breathtaking piece of artwork is unparalleled.
